I created my own version of a Non-Alcoholic Mojito which is usually referred to as a Nojito (because there is absolutely NO alcohol in it) Only one problem there is club soda and white sugar in the Nojito and I only had on hand brown sugar and ginger ale which changes the recipe and makes it a new drink I created called a Meljito (Yes! I named the drink after myself)
- 4-5 Mint Leaves
- 1/4 Tsp Brown Sugar
- 1/2 of a Lime (Chopped)
Take these ingredients and muddle them together until there is juice (about a minute)
- Fill Glass with Ice
- Fill Glass with Ginger Ale (Brand of your choice)
- Garnish as you like and add a straw
The burst of mint and lime you get mixed with the ginger ale flavor creates a really fun refreshing twist on otherwise some regular soda. This non- alcoholic drink can be served to ANYONE even a teenager which makes Mocktails a number one choice to have available so nobody has to feel left out if they don’t drink or can’t drink (Example: Pregnant guest at a party)
My mocktail was created with regular ice out of the freezer and my mint and lime float around the glass which doesn’t bother me but here is a tip: If you want the mint and lime pieces to stay at the bottom of the drink use crushed ice instead of blocks of ice.
I hope you use this mocktail recipe for a fun non-alcoholic drink for a social, a party, or just to sit back relax and have a refreshing drink.
