Even though I don’t have to stay in the house anymore and everything in my location is pretty much open (Georgia) I still enjoyed learning new things and a lot of my old diy (Do It Yourself) projects started to come back out of boredom. One of those projects was cutting and restyling t-shirts. I had an entire book I bought one time that was dedicated to cutting up t-shirts. I destroyed many t-shirts in my lifetime. Some of them actually came out nice. I remembered two quick ones I decided to do on some old t-shirts I was tired of wearing.
First one is a gray star trek t-shirt that states “give me some space” the other is a black t-shirt with a pink paint splatter design. Both I wore to death and put in a give away bag to go to the thrift store but I was inspired to pull them back out and make some of the newer t-shirt designs only using scissors.
I started with the black t-shirt and took some chalk to draw out the triangle I was going to cut out of the front. After you draw your triangle start to cut it out make sure not to cut on the collar.
This is one of the easiest diy t-shirts you can possibly do. This took me all of five minutes.
For this gray t-shirt I decided to cut of the sleeves and put some fringe at the bottom. It’s a little time consuming hand pulling all the fringe strings but it has a very stylish result.
When you pull you strips (if it’s a cotton t-shirt) it will form skinny strings. You have to try this it will make you feel like a clothing designer.
Now that you have cut you sleeves and pulled all your strips you have now made a custom diy t-shirt nobody else has in minutes. Let being in the house make you imaginative and bring some of the creations in your mind to life. It’s a great time to clean out that closet get some t-shirts grab some scissors and start your diy project.
