As soon as I moved in my apartment last year I knew from my past experience living alone (for like a month and a half lol) I wasn’t going to have cable because I don’t watch TV enough to pay $150-$200 a month for it. So I bought a Roku TV. I didn’t really know what Roku was about but I knew it was free! Not all of it is free. If you want streaming networks like Netflix, Hulu, Zeus, and Sling you have to pay for those individually but they are already in the Roku.
The only paid streaming network I pay for is Zeus. I really wanted to see Titi Do You Love Me and it was hilarious! I had a good time watching it but Zeus is a growing network so you have to be patient with the new releases. They just released Blac Chyna’s new reality show on Zeus.
The channels I watch most are completely FREE! The streaming channels I watch the most are:
-The Roku Channel
To get the Antenna channels you will need to connect your own antenna which is super cheap! I got mines from Wal Mart for $13.00 and it added over 30 channels to everything I already had.
I’m more of a busy body I listen to music, write, create products, watch You Tube, text and talk on the phone. So having cable for me would be a total waste.
I have watched so many movies on Tubi it’s unreal! They have everything split into categories I love the Reality and Black Cinema, Romance and Comedy sections. Right now I’m binge watching Big Freedia’s reality show and I’m HOOKED! On movie nights there are so many choices it takes me like (10) minutes just to find a movie!
Pluto is another cool streaming channel because it’s set up just like cable television with the channel grid and it has music channels in all genres. I was binge watching Guy Code from MTV there are alot of familiar shows from cable television. The only set back is pretty much all of it is older you could be watching something from 2012 or 2015 which doesn’t bother me because if I never seen it… it’s new to me. Also Pluto has original television that is just as good as regular cable including cooking shows, reality, wedding related shows. It’s excellent to be free.
Now of course by most of these streaming networks on Roku being free there is ads that get played in the middle of movies and tv shows but they are very short and tell you how many will play. It hasn’t bothered me at all.
Roku gets 5 stars from me. My television in my bedroom is not a Roku television so I’m going to get the stand alone Roku stick to plug into the HDMI section of my television so I can watch everything I’m watching in my living room in my bedroom also.
If your looking for daily entertainment to watch and listen to on your television with no monthly commitment I would say invest in a Roku TV or Roku express to hook up to your television. You won’t regret it.
