I’m kind of doing intermittent fasting… a little bit. Ok look I do it on most days and then some times I break down and around 10 am-11 am and eat something small but I’m not supposed to eat anything until 12 noon. What the heck is intermittent fasting you might ask? Basically you are fasting your body for 16 hours and leaving a 8 hour window open for eating. I chose the 16:8 pattern because it seemed like I could handle it better than not eating for (2) days.
It’s 10:01 am and I have eaten a pickle… my bad. My cut off time for eating is 8 pm. My window to start eating again is 12 noon. Here is what I ate on May 18th 2020 while intermittent fasting:
I’m trying a new type of “healthier” pancake mix, organic syrup, and some veggie bacon from Morning Star.
It was really delicious! I try to make my pancakes way smaller than I usually do to help take in less calories. The veggie bacon had me on the floor laughing because after I made it… It kind of resembled a dog treat lol. But don’t let the appearance fool you. Veggie bacon from Morning Star tastes exactly like bacon. Same bacon flavor and nice crunchy texture after it dries out.
I’m not big on huge plates of food. I would rather small snack food like these pieces of celery with tortilla chips and hummus. Of course I had to add a pickle. Don’t know what’s up with me and pickles but I sure do love them right now.
For my cut off meal which we will refer to as dinner I had a loaded spring salad with everything! Cucumbers, tomatoes, green onion, nutritional yeast, celery leaves, plenty of seasoning and raw apple cider vinegar. I love when I don’t have to cook just prepare and eat.
Through out the day while your intermittent fasting you can have tea, water and black coffee. I drink those through the day and granola snack bars. I’m not exercising like I should be so I’m basically maintaining my weight not really loosing any weight. But I feel much better and more disciplined as a result.
