HEY GUISE! So I’m super late I took a quick trip from Atlanta, Georgia to Jacksonville, Florida from December 10th 2019 to December 12th 2019. Yes it was a super quick vacation but because I was on a solo trip by myself it seemed like I was gone forever! I usually take at least one trip somewhere within the year for myself. Now that I see how affordable traveling is using a combination of Greyhound and the Megabus I’m definitely taking advantage of seeing more places in 2020.
I took the Greyhound to Jacksonville from Atlanta that ticket was only $27.99 I was so surprised how cheap it was! That trip was about 8-9 hours there was a lot of stops for picking up and dropping off riders. I left Atlanta at about 4:30 am and got to Jacksonville around 1:30 pm. The drop of was luckily at a Greyhound bus station and I caught a Lyft to the Quality Inn Mayport which I booked for less than $200 on booking.com.
I was super impressed by the hotel room it was totally remodeled and look exactly like the pictures on the website. There was a free breakfast bar (It was lacking selection for vegan and vegetarian guest but we will let it slide) So that was my first day arriving, checking in, getting something to eat and going to sleep.
The second day was my whole reason I left in the first place. In all my 35 years on earth I had never seen the beach. So I was on a mission even though it had rained in the middle of the night I still wanted to see the beach. There was a beach about 5-10 minutes away so I ordered a Lyft and was on my way. Even though it was cloudy and a little cold it was absolutely beautiful! I can’t lie I was a little scared because the waves were crashing and I’m not used to being around big bodies of water but after a couple minutes I started to love it! I can’t wait to go back in the spring/summer 2020 I could definitely spend a whole day on the beach. I was on Neptune Beach.
After the beach I was in a local hotspot for restaurants so I looked up a place called M Shack I saw online in walking distance. There were rave reviews about the food and the veggie burger so I ordered it all! The veggie burger, fries, kale salad and I cheated with a milkshake (don’t tell nobody shhhh)
I got back to the hotel and the food was so delicious! All of my food was under $30.00 which was insane! I was having a ball! It was my own private party. There was also my favorite store right up the street so of course I had to take my little self to The Dollar Tree. My Day was made I seen the beach for the first time in my life, ate delicious healthy food (minus the milkshake) and of course I was talking to my family and my Youtube family on my camera. That was a great day now it’s time to turn around and go back home.
Day three I’m super nervouse because I’m going home not a Greyhound bus but the Megabus. I found a $10.00 Megabus ticket! With the fees it came to $12.75 I had no idea what to expect so I got up early and headed downstairs to checkout. I caught a Lyft super early to the same Greyhound station I came in at. Glad I did because my Lyft driver was so confused she got lost but I still got there early.
I was so shocked! Not only was the Megabus on time but the bus was clean and spacious, driver was friendly and the bus only stopped one time! The trip was basically a straight shot. I arrived in Atlanta on-time at 8pm and I would do it again in a heartbeat!
If you want to travel cheap don’t be scared to use different traveling options like Greyhound and Megabus. Booking.com has alot of hotel deals also if your traveling on a budget. Try some new things in 2020 don’t be scared to just go! Watch the vlogs I recorded while I took my trip!
